Adonai Medical Centre
Providing a Need to a Desperate Community
In 2015, Adonai launched a Community Health Centre with the help of the GlobeMed chapter at Northwestern University. The centre helps meet the needs of the Adonai children, students, and the community. The Health Centre has a nurse on staff for our daily needs. In addition, the Health Centre hosts visits by physicians and dentists from the Mulago Hospital and Mulago Dental School. If you’re a healthcare professional who has a heart for children, your visit would be most welcome!
The Health Centre also serves the needs of the local community. With international partners such as GlobeMed, Adonai is able to conduct community needs assessments and perform health outreaches in such critical areas as malaria prevention, family planning and nutrition. These sessions help educate the community in order to prevent further proliferation of disease in the area.
Medical Outreaches
Adonai has reached a capacity at which it is able to give back to the community in a special way: health outreaches. An outreach consists of a relevant health talk, free blood pressure testing, free STD testing, health consultations, and sometimes even free distribution of much needed drugs. In this way, we are able to promote our medical centre and encourage individuals in the community to take care of their health before it is too late.
