The Adonai Centre recently hosted a touching farewell party to celebrate the remarkable contributions of Jajja Penny O’bee from the UK.

Jajja Penny O’bee’s journey with Adonai traces back to a friendship formed over 20 years ago, before the establishment of the Adonai Centre. Her support began shortly after Adonai’s inception, and she played a pivotal role in introducing the organization to a network of friends in the UK. Beyond financial contributions, Penny personally connected several children with their sponsors, ensuring they received the support they needed to thrive.

The farewell party was a poignant occasion, attended by some of the children Penny had assisted over the years. Their presence at the event, taking photos with Penny, served as a powerful testament to the enduring impact of her support. Most of these children have not only completed their education and training but have also ventured into various skills and are now contributing members of society.

Penny believed she wouldn’t return to Uganda. However, a visit from Adonai’s Executive Director to her in the UK last October sparked the decision to revisit Uganda for what she thought would be her final visit. Accompanied by a couple and their two grandsons, the day of the farewell party was filled with a mix of emotions, gratitude, and reflections on the profound impact of Penny’s involvement with Adonai.
